Blossom Wood is a private, independent , coeducational elementary school serving children preschool age two through sixth grade. It is a 501(c) not for profit organization, governed by a board of directors and funded solely through tuition, fees, and charitable contributions.
What are expectations of parents at Blossom Wood?
Parents are expected to have an interest in long term private education. Volunteer hours are required by each family annually and parents are expected to act as full partners with the school to support student learning and development. Parents are required to attend conferences, communicate regularly with teachers, and show an invested interest in the school mission and programs for its students.
Are fundraisers required?
Yes. The Parent Advisory Council selects a limited number of fundraisers each year. Parents at Blossom Wood are eager and supportive of school fundraising efforts. Fundraising efforts make up about 25% of the school's annual operational budget. The committee takes great consideration of parent time and fundraisers are selected to provide the greatest results so that fundraising is not placed upon parents continually during the year.
Is Blossom Wood a Child Care Center?
No. Blossom Wood is a private, independent elementary school listed as a non-public elementary school with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Blossom Wood operates an Early Education Center, it is license exempt and the school maintains a contract with the Department of Social Services for child care subsidy. We do offer a few slots for families who qualify for this service. Contact the school office for details.
What assessment tools are used?
Teachers in our Early Education Center used Pictorial Portfolios to set goals and document progress for each child during the school year. Parents as Teachers administer the DAIL-R developmental screening each spring. Parent conferences are held each fall and spring.
Elementary students receive quarterly progress reports, parent conferences
are held each fall and spring and students in grades three through sixth take the MAP test in the spring.
Does Blossom Wood offer a scholarship or financial aid program?

When does admission begin for the fall?
Admission for the upcoming school year begins in November. Admission will be considered during the school year if space is available. Please contact the school office for details.
What is the birthdate cut-off for Kindergarten?
Blossom Wood adheres to the State of Missouri's guidelines of July 31st. If extenuating circumstances exist and you would like your child assessed for placement, please contact the school office.
Does Blossom Wood have a uniform policy?
Yes. Uniforms are required Monday through Thursday and may be purchased through Fischer's School Uniforms.
Does Blossom Wood offer a summer program?
Yes. Summer camp is offered in June and July. It is open to children in the community and is designed to be activity-packed including arts, crafts, trips, nutritious meals, bike clubs, sewing, book clubs and more. It is staffed by adults and developed for enrichment.
Where do students go after Blossom Wood?
