It began in 1998 as a home school for kindergarten students and its name is taken from the street where it was originally housed. In 2004, an Early education Center was established to promote developmentally appropriate early education for Children age two years thru four years. It is an extension of Blossom Wood Day School. Private School Embracing Public School Students and Community Our programs are unique in that they extend our resources as a small private institution to other public and private school students in our community including our Aftershool and Summer programs, Saturday tutorial and enrichment programs and support programs for families including AARP -Workforce Employment Training. We value our partnerships with the City of Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Department and local businesses used to provide goods and services to our programs. |
Christ Centered
Blossom Wood places Christian principles at the core of our work with children and our interaction with each other. The school embraces prayer and begins each school day with morning devotions that include, biblical messages designed for children, student led prayer, praise and worship. A Home School Model Blossom Wood began as a home school and continues in this tradition. Our school environment feels “homelike” and is highly child focused. Individual needs are strong factors in curriculum design, text materials, and activities. Blossom Wood is designed to be a school where parents are visible and invested, students operate in a communal manner and where faculty members share close relationships with students to encourage their growth and development. An Independent School Blossom Wood enjoys the opportunity to design its programs to meet the needs of its children and families. It is tuition based, governed by a Board of Directors and supported by a Parent Advisory Council and Community Advisory Council.
